This badge is unlocked by running a 5k distance (3.1mi) and logging it with runkeeper.

Go to runkeeper.com and create an account.
Make sure to link your foursquare account at the runkeeper.com website.
When you are logging your 5k run make sure you are logging 3.1 miles. Anything else much over will not trigger the unlock.
